THE PRACTICAL DETAILS

Your photos stay
on your side.

The design studio processes your photos, logo and dog details in your browser. It does not upload them to a Nuhom server or AI service.

What the design studio stores

Saving is off by default. You can edit, import, preview and download without agreeing to save anything between visits. Your work then stays in this tab’s memory until the page is reloaded or closed. Choosing Save on this device opts in to saving the following in this browser’s IndexedDB database, named nuhom:

  • Each design you work on: its words, photos, logo and a small preview image.
  • Your rescue’s name, logo and phone number, so new designs start filled in.
  • Design IDs and last-edit times, used to reopen and sort your designs.

We keep up to 24 saved designs. Saving beyond that limit removes the least recently edited designs. Otherwise, designs and remembered rescue details remain until you delete them, turn saving off, or your browser clears site data; there is no automatic time expiry or server backup. Deleting one design does not delete the separately remembered rescue details.

Choosing Don’t save in the initial notice only records your preference; it does not read or delete previously saved designs. Turning off saving in Design options asks for confirmation before deleting saved designs and rescue details. You can also delete them using the controls below.

The localStorage setting nuhom.storage records your choice only after you make one: on-v1 for opt-in saving, or off for no saving. It remains until you change the choice or clear site data, so we can honour your preference. We do not store a visitor identifier or send this setting to a server.

Optional design storage is based on your affirmative choice; you can withdraw it as easily as you gave it, without losing access to editing or downloads. We use no analytics, advertising, tracking cookies or third-party embeds. There is no site-wide cookie banner: the studio asks about its optional storage where you use it.

Save a copy as a file downloads your design, including its photos, to carry on using another device. Only share that file with people who should have it. Photo uploads are re-encoded to remove source metadata, including embedded location information.

Manage data on this device

Design saving is off. These controls apply only to Nuhom’s data in this browser, not files you downloaded, other devices, published designs or hosting logs. Turning saving off does not erase work still open in a tab’s memory.

Export downloads a machine-readable JSON copy of all saved designs, embedded photos, previews, remembered rescue details and storage settings. It does not include unsaved work in a tab. For an editable copy of an individual design, use Save a copy as a file in the studio.

If these controls cannot run, clear this website’s site data using your browser settings. That also removes the preference. Leave saving off on shared devices. Other people with access to the same browser profile may be able to read saved designs.

Site requests and external links

The website and its bundled fonts and example images are served by the site host. Your browser necessarily sends your IP address, requested URL, request time and browser/network information to that host to deliver the page. The host may log these requests. Our browser-local design processing does not mean that visiting a website is anonymous.

Following external links, including Framer, takes you to a separate service with its own terms and privacy policies. They receive your request when you follow the link, not when you simply view it here. Nuhom uses a no-referrer policy to avoid sending the current page address along with those requests. Downloaded QR codes point directly to the URL you supply, without a Nuhom tracking redirect.

Your data-protection rights

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, you may request access to your personal data, correction, erasure, restriction of processing and, where applicable, data portability. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests, and withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

You can inspect and correct saved designs in the studio, export saved data here, and withdraw optional storage permission by turning saving off. Nuhom has no server copy of studio designs to retrieve, correct or restore. A rescue is responsible for personal data it puts into a design and later publishes; use an appropriate lawful basis for information about other people. Your storage choice does not provide their permission.

GDPR requests must normally be answered within one month, subject to the lawful exceptions and extensions.

You can complain to a supervisory authority, including one in the EU/EEA country where you live, work or believe an infringement occurred. See the EDPB’s list of authorities. For the UK, contact the Information Commissioner’s Office. Nuhom does not profile visitors or make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.

Keep private information out of public designs

Use approximate locations and public rescue contact routes, not private foster addresses or adopter details. Have permission for identifiable people and uploaded images. Check the final graphics and accompanying text before publishing.
